Fumigation
Many commercial customers have the need for quarantine and fumigation services. Adelaide Pest Control is up to date with all fumigation treatments and procedures and offers the following fumigation treatments:
- Commodity – Treatment of a product by gas or chemicals in order to eliminate a pest infestation.
- Container – Treatment of a commodity or the container itself to eliminate the risk of pests or disease from entering or leaving the country or state.
- Silo – Fumigation of a grain product within it’s storage vessel.
- Shipping – Involves the treating of the holds of a ship (whether they be full of commodity or empty) or the treatment of certain areas within the super structure of the ship itself.
- Building – Fumigation for the control of exotic pests such as, Crytotermes Brevis.
- Heat – There are two different types of heat treatments. Heat treatments are performed on both imported and exported of goods for the sterilization and or devitalisation of the product without the use of toxic gases:
- Dry Heat Treatment – This process involves drilling a hole in the product so that a probe can be inserted. Even though treatment is only for 30 minutes, it can take quite a few hours to reach the core temperature.
- Moist Heat Treatment – A heat process the same as dry heat but involves the adding of a minimum of 50% humidity.
