Finding ants in your home can be frustrating. Many ants, including the common pavement ant can be difficult to control. You need to make sure that you keep ants away from your family, pets and food as ants frequently travel through unhygienic areas before they end up on your countertops and cupboards.
Most ant species prefer sunny climates. As Australia is the perfect environment for ants to thrive, they are just about everywhere. Around 15,000 ant species and subspecies exist worldwide, with Australia home to just over 1,300 known species.

Practical advice on how to get rid of ants
When ants get into your home, it’s impossible to know where they have been and what germs they may bring. Garden or Black ants aren’t thought to carry diseases, but you won’t want them marching through your food cupboards as they travel long distances in search for food. They follow trails they have created and join together around any food source. As a result, they can be a real nuisance for your home. Small piles of earth around holes in soil and at the base of exterior walls indicate their origin.
